About Us
In 1986, a devoted family man named Albert packed his family in the car and set out for sunny South Florida. The tradition of a New York Deli and Jewish comfort food along with his uncanny knack for the art of kibitzing, won the hearts of all of his customers. He was eager to bring delicious deli fare to Delray Beach in a space that was designed to welcome everyone.
From the days the doors opened, Poppies became a favorite landmark restaurant serving the community where friends and families alike come together to enjoy a wonderful meal. The namesake is a nod to all of the Poppies who have touched our lives in keeping these cultural traditions alive.
Keeping Tradition while Moving Forward. Poppies remains dedicated to the original concept of serving generous portions of traditional recipes, while also infusing modern, healthy dishes with locally-sourced ingredients.
You can enjoy Corned Beef Hash & Eggs one day and a healthy, Hummus Wrap the next. We are still a family owned and operated business and are proud to provide a valuable service to our community with a welcoming smile, offering more than a pickle and a schmear.
Poppies Gives Back
We actively contribute to the community by donating food to our neighbors at South County and to local charities.
Here are some:
- Emmanuel Church
- Temple Sinai
- Delray Police Department
- Palm Beach Sheriff
- PAP Corps
Come to Poppies, where great folks and great food meet!
